Winter Pruning

One question I get all the time in this business is, “Do you guys work in the winter?” It always amazes me how many people think tree work stops in the cold months. Winter is a great time to prune trees. When the leaves (of deciduous trees) fall, our tree workers can see branching structure more clearly. We can also thin the canopy and remove dead branches without worrying about dropping debris on surrounding flower beds which have gone dormant. When the trees have gone dormant for the season, they can also tolerate a more aggressive prune which may be necessary depending on the health of the tree.

Don’t forget that H&H Arborists works year round to care for the trees of Madison and surrounding communities. If you, your friends, or your neighbors have any tree care need, please use this form to contact us and schedule a free estimate.
